it’s so crazy to me that there are people who don’t live by the ocean or sea which is like. yeah ofc duh but it’s still unfathomable that they just don’t have all that vastness & beauty & salt-stained peace to turn to. don’t get to stand in front of the ocean & think things through & let their sorrow ebb away with the tides. don’t get to fall backwards into the water & feel the way sunlight wobbles through the waves & see the fussy little fish dart about by their feet. i guess it’s some sort of luck that i’m not surrounded by acres and acres of land. that i can touch the same water that stretches across the whole world. that i can watch the horizon fade away at dusk when everything is endless and smeared with color. the sound of waves. what luck, what loveliness
